Minigames are one of the many features of 8 Ball Pool which are used to accumulate pool coins, cues from Surprise boxes, scratch cards, and free spins. They include Spin and Win, Scratch and Win, and previously Hi-Lo before it was replaced with Lucky Shot. Premium minigames include Golden Spin and Golden Shot, which give bigger prizes.

Spin and Win[]

The Spin and Win minigame is an iconic aspect of 8 Ball Pool; it can help players obtain pool coins, scratch-and-win minigames, or Surprise Boxes. Scratch and Win[]

The Scratch and Win minigame is also an iconic part of 8 Ball Pool. It can be obtained as a prize from the Spin and Win or five can be bought for twenty pool cash and fifteen can be purchased for fifty pool cash. The aim is to match three of the same cards together and win the amount on the cards; for example, if you scratch out three two thousand pool coins, you will be rewarded with two thousand pool coins. There is a smaller variety of coin prizes than the Spin and Win but the prizes have larger coin values. You will be informed "Better luck next time!" if there are no matches of three of the same coin values.

Hi-Lo[]

Before Lucky Shot and Golden Shot replaced it, Hi-Lo was a minigame that allowed players to win thousands of pool coins with a jackpot varying from two-hundred-and-fifty thousand pool coins to one million pool coins. Entry fees varied; for the jackpot of two-hundred-and-fifty thousand pool coins, players had to pay two pool cash - for the jackpot of fifty thousand, players had to pay four pool cash and for the grand jackpot of one million pool coins, players had to pay eight pool cash. The player could obtain the "All Mine!" achievement for the Hi-Lo game which was achieved when players cashed out immediately after getting a correct guess, the "Close Call" achievement for losing on the final call on Hi-Lo and the "Dry run" achievement for completely failing in Hi-Lo and the "Run to the top" achievement for winning the top prize.

Lucky Shot[]

Lucky Shot has replaced the minigame Hi-Lo. This minigame is played by landing the solid yellow ball onto one of the four circles after striking it with the cue ball or striped red ball. The four circles are gray (outermost circle), blue (second outermost), red (second most inner circle), and gold (center of the other three circles). By successfully landing the yellow ball on one of the circles, a player may win either coins, pool cash, or victory boxes.

Golden Shot[]

This minigame can also be found in seasonal Pool passes or by purchasing a bundle pack of three for a credit of $1.99.
